Bootleg Butter (P1)

Butter is a core element when it comes to cooking and baking. It's the sweet, salty, creamy, delicious element that pulls flavors together. Unfortunately, for some of us, we do not get to enjoy a tasty block of butter. However, the beauty of how much food has expanded in modern times has helped mimic our favorite dairy products! Today I'm going to talk about a few butter products that can be used for everyone. I'll be throwing in some tips on what I've noticed with the products as well.






The first butter on display is Miyokos Creamery Butter. This butter is free of dairy and also free of soy and palm for those who have an intolerance to it. It spreads nicely and bakes heavenly. It is a great replacement for having a rich butter taste on a piece of toast or swapping out dairy butter as a 1-to-1 in a dessert recipe. However, there are some cons I personally found when it came to this butter:




  1. The butter loses its flavor quickly especially if left at room temp. 

  2. This butter does not cook down well in a pan. When you use this butter to fry up something in a pan or add to a sauce, the butter breaks down too quickly and produces a funny smell and not-so-pleasant flavor.
